I am not a fan of the death penalty, even though some people (like this woman) certainly deserve it. I think a lifetime of solitary confinement is probably a greater punishment than death by lethal injection (except in this grizzly case it seems). Unfortunately her lawyers now get to argue "cruel and unusual punishment" and the whole legal circus will drag on for another decade or so (assuming she survives of course). I am also all for due process, but you have to wonder.... Is 30 years of due process better than 20? Or 10? Or 5? Why the heck did it take them this long? At some point you either have to do the thing... Or not.

Yes. Which is why I am asking, is it Christian to be for the death penalty? I am mixed feeling on this now. Before I would have said let them fry, they are evil and killed someone. But my teaching in Christian school as a child was, Thou Shalt not Kill. Hence my dilemma now. But there is also an eye for an eye, some would say.

I can only speak for myself. Eye for an eye is old testament teaching, this Christian believes in Jesus Christ and he brought us a new covenant with God. I pray everyday that God does not put me in the situation to make a decision to have to kill another person because of their evil actions. Humans thought Jesus was evil, hence the Crucifixion. Two cents.

Heard she has the worst internal chemical burns you can imagine, extreme pain, especially inside one of her arms. The issue is RX companies don't want to be associated with it and don't want to make these meds. However, they had no problem doing it in Poland and Germany during the war. Don't know what will happen, but it sounds like the work around they are doing for the meds are pretty painful and people thought it just stopped the heart. In countries that have assisted death, device they go into that looks like an egg, wondering if they will go that route.

This is what my DH said. But I have always been strongly against people killing and getting away with it. They should be prepared to die if they kill someone, was my belief. But if you kill them or want them killed, are you as bad as they are? I could not do it personally, no way. Just not sure what I think anymore. When I was not too strong in belief and at times kind of an agnostic, it was easy to say they need to fry.

Maybe. I feel she dehydrated herself on purpose turning down food and water. She knew she has bad veins and it would not work.

they should have found a good vein, The policy needs to add potassium after to stop the heart. Even vets give 3 meds or so to euthanize your fur babies..head, brain ,heart and breathing must stop. Read canada put 16500 to sleep last year. or was it 24000. that is a lot. God rest our souls

i do not believe they should have waited 30 years on tax payer money. I heard inn Japan they wait maybe a week and do not notify families like they do here.
