School lunch My mom sent me this earlier. She used to be a the manager of an elementary school cafeteria. She would come home very often and saying how she would pay for several kids lunches during the day- very often. At the school she worked at, if the kids didn't have money, they would get a cheese sandwich, or I forgot what exactly. But my mom used to see the kids cry and didn't want the kids to go through that embarrassment of having their food taken away at the lunch line and traded for a sandwich.. so my mom would pay for their lunches. Not sure if this post she sent is true.. but I honestly think that some parents should be held accountable for never giving their kids money or a lunch to eat at school. Just my opinion. (A cheese sandwich is still better than nothing though - it wasn't grilled cheese because it was kept in the fridge. Unless it was an actual ham and cheese sandwich) My mother always gave me a check, and would call the school cafeteria or go up there herself to make sure there was always money in my account. The food wasn't always necessarily good from the cafeteria, so most days I would take my lunch. What do y'all think?
@yesi27 : Well, back in the day, there wasn't a school lunch program...wait yes there was, you brought you 'school lunch' from home in your metal lunch box including the thermos that usually had milk.
A loaf of bread, $1 with at least 20 slices. A jar of peanut butter, $2. A jar of jelly, $1.50. A big @$$ bag of chips $2.50 and put some in a baggie. Fruit ~$0.25-$0.40.
