Now 2/3 of Americans support Universal Care. Is this a response to the inadequate health care they are receiving now?

I'm open to it. I think we have always accepted government funded education and never called us socialist. But for some reason, providing basic healthcare to everyone IS socialist.

MrsC67 :
The insurance industry promotes the socialist label which they conflate with Stalinist style authoritarianism. Their huge profits would be kaput.

You do realize government funded anything means Americans funding. I am not aware of our government producing goods for profit? Matter of fact our government has put us in debt for any future to come.

Have you ever considered the financial burden untreated chronic conditions place on the economy? That raises taxes, cost of services and cost of insurance. The main reason for chronic mwdical conditions going untreated or undertreated is inability to pay. Texas has a tremendous number of people with no health insurance. Their care when a manageable condition reaches crisis level is a hidden tax.

Yes please! They've done such a bang up job with the VA and the Post Office. Anything the government does costs more and delivers less.

MrsC67 : What would basic healthcare look like? At what point does it become more than basic and who would pay for that? To me basic would be vaccines, and a regular yearly check ups. That's it, no X-rays, CT Scans and such. What happens if one is truly ill with something like cancer? Who pays for that if your covering just basic healthcare?

The anecdotes about the VA are terrible. The hard facts nowhere as bad.
As a self-funding operation in competition with private companies with no legal obligation lo lose money providing services for profits don't have to, it's hard to judge the USPS.

Well they don't have the real facts …. Of they are purposely uninformed! The academic and MSM indoctrination has been very successful in the past few decades in selling a false doctrine…..particularly to young college students and whacky liberal women. The pussification of men is almost complete! Communism is at our doorstep! Vote RED unless you want the country to fail.

I've never had issues receiving healthcare. Maybe others do. I call make appointment and show up. Seen most all the doctors around here over the years. All good. So I don't understand what the issue is with current system. Lots of things happened to me, they all provided great medical, dental and vision care. For not much money. I remember When I was younger without medical insurance they just said Ok just pay 100 dollars. What a deal. So there is a way. Just call and ask. They will help you out. Doctors and Surgeons in emergencies don't worry about money, they will try to fix it and save you.
