If you look at the countries that still allow capital punishment, it is quite surprising America does not value the sanctity of life. Those countries that do are all predominantly Islam. Still there is hope 23 states do not allow it.

This reminds me of when my husband was in the Middle East on business when we were young-still in our 20's. He was just starting on his career path in the oil and gas industry. While on his first of what would eventually be many trips there, he was invited to a public stoning of a young woman accused of having an affair. He and the Middle Eastern host were in the square following the meeting. He witnessed people gathering big stones and heard the excitement in the festive atmosphere. He was so sickened by what he was witnessing and while he did not want to offend the company representative that he was there to meet with there was no way that he could not only witness the execution by stoning, he couldn't stand to even be in the vicinity. Executions may be legal and even warranted in some cases. That in no way means it should be something viewed and witnessed by those other than those that have to be there. I hope that this in not factual. Can we sink any lower? Maybe they can sell tickets and tshirts.
