The station looks like it's open again. I never saw any work being done there though...maybe they worked in the middle of the night...

grinchy : I noticed a contractor there a month or so back, it seems like all of it was in their office/relaxation area which seems to be already small in the first place.

101 and 104 are planned to be closed down in a few years when the new fire station is built on Kingwood Drive between Royal Forest Drive and Chestnut Ridge Road.

There were serious health and safety concerns at 101 for years. It wasn't until Whitmire became mayor that they started to get addressed.

Station 101 Renovation
• Location: 1863 Kingwood Dr, Humble/Kingwood, TX 77339
• Cost: $445,790
• Improvements: Upgraded housing, sanitation, private crew dorm trailers, individual lockers, and modernized living quarters.
• Future Plans: City and district officials are working on property acquisition for an entirely new, permanent facility just west of the current Station 101 site to eventually replace the older portable structures.
