Growing CPA firm based in Northeast Houston is looking for an experienced accountant and tax return preparer! The firm focuses on services to both individuals and businesses, locally and overseas.

This role require several (3+) years of U.S. tax preparation experience and accounting knowledge for preparation, compilation and review of financial statements. An extensive knowledge of technical accounting and control procedures is required. This person will prepare and assist with individual, business and other entity tax returns, and provide accounting, research, systems and other related services, as needed.

Must be able to successfully manage multiple assignments, develop quality relationships, identify client needs and service opportunities, and propose solutions as issues arise. There are opportunities to provide strategic consulting services, prepare personal financial plans, train and coach client staff, and perform business valuations.

Qualified candidates must possess CPA designations.
QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification strongly preferred.

Skills/Education/Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years of accounting and tax preparation experience in public practice
QuickBooks and Lacerte experience strongly preferred
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe tools
Excellent professional writing and communication skills
Strong client and team building relationship skills
Multi-cultural sensitivity

Duties Include:
Tax return preparation - individuals, businesses, trusts, gift, etc.
Bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
Accounting, tax and business valuation research
Payroll and payroll taxes, as needed
Technical writing, financial analysis, as needed
Litigation support assistance (when necessary)
Client service

Full-time or part-time, flexible hours.
