Job Duties:
Answer phones.
Review incoming mail and memoranda.
Heavy deadline calendaring - response dates for pleadings and discovery.
e-File legal documents .
Pull files for attorney appearances and dairy reminders.
Confirm all appearances with clients, court reporters, witnesses, experts and other key personnel as it relates to case.
Request continuances or extensions as needed and prepare confirming letters.
Schedule depositions of parties, witnesses, experts and other personnel.
Arrange court reporters, interpreters, videographers, conference rooms for depositions; prepare calendar slips.
Prepare subpoenas for services (deposition, document production and trial with on-call letters).
Arrange for messengers for pick-up and/or delivery.
Schedule and coordinate travel arrangements.
Maintain paper files.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years legal secretarial experience.
Knowledge of all applicable deadline/cut-off dates.
Knowledge of all state and federal court procedures and requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent proofreading abilities.
Experience working with subrogation and commercial cases is preferred.
Bilingual – Spanish is preferred.
