We are seeking someone with 2-5 years recent paralegal experience (insurance defense experience is preferred) on a high volume docket. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and have the capability to perform well under strict deadlines. The ability to set priorities is vital.
Responsibilities :
• Maintain organization of a high volume docket
• Analyze documents and perform first privilege review
• Redact documents
• Perform legal and factual research to facilitate case progress
• Monitor critical deadlines
• Draft pleadings and discovery
• Manipulate Excel spreadsheets for reporting
• Request records
• Maintain deposition, mediation/arbitration and trial notebooks
• Keep clients updated with incoming/outgoing pleadings and discovery
• Interact with various courts, opposing counsel, clients and experts as necessary
• Maintain data in case management system
• eFile documents in State/Federal courts
• Required to enter time and meet expected billable hours/month
Requirements :
• 2-5 years of recent experience, insurance defense experience is a plus
• Knowledge of court procedures/processes - State and Federal
• Strong work ethic
Software Knowledge :
• Proficient using Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word and Excel
• Adobe Pro X or other PDF editing software
• Case Management and Time/Billing
