Doyen Sebesta & Poelma, LLLP is a civil litigation and insurance defense firm located in north Houston. We are looking for someone with 3+ years of recent paralegal experience in a Texas litigation firm. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and have the capability to perform well under strict deadlines. The ability to set priorities is vital. This position is responsible for monitoring the workflow of the docket to ensure all deadines are met and works closely with attorneys responding to discovery requests.

Responsibilities:

Maintain organization of the assigned docket
Monitor critical deadlines
Draft pleadings and discovery
Maintain deposition, mediation/arbitration and trial notebooks in accordance with attorney requests
Interact with various courts, opposing counsel, clients and experts as necessary to facilitate case progress
Maintain data in case management system
Provide guidance to attorneys and legal assistant to maintain docket work flow and meet deadlines
eFile documents in State/Federal courts
Required to capture time spent working on cases

Mandatory Requirements:

3+ years of recent experience in a Texas litigation firm as a Paralegal
Knowledge of court procedures/processes - State and Federal
Strong work ethic and time management skills
Consistent work history
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
