Preschool Program Holy Comforter Preschool has been serving area families for over 40 years. We are a licensed facility and our Preschool program follows all the guidelines and requirements set by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. |
Mother's Day Out Program The Mother's Day Out Program is a mission of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and has served our families for over 40 years. We strive to provide a warm, loving, Christian environment for creative and happy play among children of the same age group. HCLC Mother's Day Out program is licensed and follows the standards set by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. |
Curriculum Our curriculum is developed in cooperation with area Kindergarten teachers to ensure that skills required for entry in Humble ISD kindergarten are introduced while in our Preschool program. Our writing program is Get Ready For School (the Preschool version of Handwriting Without Tears Program currently used in Humble ISD). We regularly update our curriculum to reflect any necessary changes. |
Kids in Action - A local gymnastics company teaches biweekly classes focused on gross motor skills Spanish classes - Classes are weekly and designed to introduce the Spanish language. Chapel - Weekly opportunity for children to experience a time of worship and praise. Godly Play - Weekly classes using Montessori style storytelling and manipulatives for bible stories |

Colleen Engel Director of Early Childhood Preschool/MDO | Meet Our School Director Colleen Engel has served as a staff member of Holy Comforter's School since 1989, first as a teacher in the Mother's Day Out program until 1992 and then as a Preschool Lead teacher until May of 2001. She took over the role of Director of Early Childhood Education in September of 2001 and continues to oversee a thriving Preschool and Mother's Day Out program today. |
