Date night Do's and Don'ts

Here are 5 things you should NOT discuss on Date night
1. Kids status report- ex. don't discuss report cards
2. To do list- don't discuss what needs to be done around the house
3. Tick for Tact- no bringing up things your spouse did the other day that annoyed you
4. Money
5. Make sure to get out of the house for date night, no sweat pants/yoga pants and renting a movie at home.

When my boys were infants, that was a good day if I got to
I loved going out and being able to take my time to eat.
Since I stayed home, I liked to talk to my dh about his work, and what was going on there. Just to catch up.
Politics is always a big topic with me, and in general I can talk to a wall. lol

when we go out we talk about hubbys day & what he did , then we talk about what we have planned for the week-end . We never discuss finances , kids, pets or work . We always choose a quiet restaurant where we can actually talk & hear one another also. Never set a time limit on your evening out either.

We always do something on date night that we both really enjoy. We've got the same interests & mostly the same hobbies though so that's always easy. We'll talk about whatever we did/ saw, discuss our goals, talk about upcoming things we'd like to do, there's almost always some tv/ movie/ comic book talk, occasionally we'll catch up on one another's friends, talk about places we'd like to go/ things we'd like to do with DD, he & I have been together since we were teenagers so there's the occasional reminiscing about the good ol' days, our families, ummm... we ALWAYS have the "we've got the best kid in the universe" talk (because it's true, we do.) , & we always have some talk about how lucky we are to be with one another & get all lovey dovey. He always showers, shaves, dresses really nice, does his hair cute, & wears a nice cologne. I always shower, shave (legs, pits, etc.), fix my hair & make up special, dress in something I know he'll like, wear perfume, cute shoes. It's nice getting done up for one another. Now I'm in the mood for another date night! lol

Eewww, I'm not. I tried it once and it made hubby feel like a pedophile and the itchy regrowth stage was awful. Well groomed is the way to go.

@Francita... like seriouslyoverbooked ...I also tried it once , the itching & "stubble" regrowth were horrible....once was enough for me (LOL) besides "well groomed" is the best way to go , it gives you a little padding (LOL).

He's a chatter box & I like him just a smidge. He's my best friend & I'm his. We aren't the type to sit there quietly & stare longingly into one another's eyes.
