I know what you mean. In the last 6 months we have put $1600 in my DH's Mitubishi for repairs. And the check engine light just came on last week. Who knows what that will cost us.

I have an older pentax

But the newer ones is Da Bomb.

Plus that silver edition, kind of retro and kewl looking.

I have this one, more an older consumer grade.

The body only is $950-1100 depending on where you go, the model options etc.

But that is still cheap compared to some Fuji, Canon and Nikons.

And it is pocket change compared to some medium frame cameras that start in the 6 figure range.

Well if you are not afraid to buy used, they are not all that expensive.

I paid 320 for mine used.

Still a lot (according DW) for a hobby.

Sorry, don't know why my post is on here twice. I was looking @ cameras the other night, they are very expensive. I took photography in HS, I had a Pentax.
