I couldn't feel safer living here.  The day before I moved here from L.A. County, I had to chase two would-be burglars away from my neighbor's house with my .45.  And I lived in a pretty decent neighborhood!
Scum will always try to feed off of the decent, and it's up to us to let them know we won't let it happen.  Always report suspicious people to the police, and confront people who act abnormally.  Make THEM afraid and uneasy, not YOU! (This is how I was raised, and my dad was never harmed because he intimidated the scumbags, so don't anybody tell me that's a dangerous way to live.)

I've lived in a lot of places, on both coasts, north & south, and I can honestly say that I LIKE Kingwood! Location wise it's close enough to downtown to have a night out, yet far enough away that we don't have (many) bums sleeping under our overpasses. There IS cultural diversity, just look around! Houston has a relatively high employment rate as compared to the rest of the US. The residents overall are friendly, and if not a firm "eff off" never killed anyone. Just go hang out in Pennsylvania for a single day & you will understand what I'm talkjng about!!! I'm currently trying to get my dad & stepmom to move down from Ohio so these are all the reasons I pitch to them lol.
