My Fish Place Review

My husband and I ate at the Fish Place and it was delicious. Maybe a little too delicious...
He took a bite of their red beans and rice and exclaimed, "Now this is what it's supposed to taste like!" He was referring, of course, to my red beans and rice which, until recently, I thought he liked. I didn't see any chocolate on the menu, and after that remark I needed some. So they could improve in that area.
I'm going to go remove the red beans and rice recipe card from my cookbook, as apparently it's no longer wanted.
Overall - yummy food, inexpensive, great service, happy place. We'll be back!

Oh I use those too mardigrasman. They are dang good.
@Pi, quick question, do they have real silverware to eat with? That was my pet peeve with the other place that was in business before this one. I really couldn't get over paying those prices and eating on plastic.
I know petty, but it bugs me.
Gonna take my boys here tomorrow.

We had dinner there tonight. Very good, large portions.
I had 3 different tacos - way too much food. The Jamaican Taco is amazing.

@Pi: Don't be ashamed of your red beans. I've been making them for many years and I still can't get mine as creamy as the Blue Runner canned ones.

Isn't that the truth, @Retired_Engineer. I have spent hours and hours trying to fix red beans as well as Blue Runner I never use caned things or boxed anything, but with Red Beans I finally caved.
@Fallon: Mine taste great, but I can't get that creaminess.

After reading everyone's review.. I had to try this place out. Plus, it's right by my house!
I got the $6.50 combo of red beans and rice and boudain balls. the beans/rice needed A LOT of salt, but I always like things with salt... The boudain balls were GREAT! I couldn't even finish the meal. What a great deal for $6.50!
My husband got the gumbo. He's from Louisiana and makes an amazing gumbo... and he said it was great. So that review means a lot !
I had the red beans and rice and thought it lacked seasoning as well.
