We want to take a little mini vacation this summer that is inexpensive. We would have our 2 teenagers with us as well. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be in Texas as we have flight privileges so we can fly somewhere as well.
Hill country - Go to San Antonio, Then head up to Six Flags/shlitterbaun, go down the Comel river, or hang out at Canyon lake. You could always fly to panama city.

Check out Colorado Springs. Nice for 3 days. Lots of inexpensive/free things to do.
Was just in Laredo last weekend, not what I would call a vacation spot, all I saw was Border Patrol Choppers hovering the River and it was hot as all hell.......Montana or New Hampshire where I moved from is more my style

Place to stay? Doesn't matter too much since you'll be gone all day... I would stay at any normal hotel chain on the west side off of I 25 near Garden of the gods road or as far south as the broadmoor and that puts you close to everything. I lived the for several years so no hotel stays
