There is a two left turn lanes onto 59 by minute maid park. I usually take the turn from the middle lane. The outer left lane MUST turn. Not all drivers are paying attention or read signs. Today, an idiot sees me turn on my signal and I watch him in my mirror. He stops in mid intersection as I am turning. I know he plans to go straight and I stop too. He gives me a dirty look and I point to the sign showing him he should turn. He doesn't. Idiot.

@lola, there were several idiots today that waited until they got to an exit to move into the exit lane. And one idiot was in the exit-only lane and swerved at the last second to keep from exiting.

Sometimes I wish I had an old beat up 3/4 ton pickup loaded with sand and extra heavy duty bumpers. Then I could play bumper-car with the idiots!!!

@lola: Is that at Franklin & Chernevert? I almost been T-boned there 3 times. It totally amazes me that people are too stupid to follow the arrows. The one time the guy was in the right land that goes left and he wants to go straight, I'm in the middle lane on Franklin making a left and he beeps his horn at me and his mouth is going a full force. I'm in the correct lane to make a left. Grrrrrrrr The commute can get to me at times.

I hate those lawn trucks, I have almost been hit by at least 5 of them. It seems like a requirement for some of those companies are that they cant know how to drive.

@pksbar:
That's it. I am always on the defensive making that turn. I might start using the other lane to avoid an accident with an idiot.

@lola: I'm very leery when I'm in that lane especially the last month b/c I bought a new car. Sometimes I do use the right lane and it is a bit better. Recently I came down Crawford & made a right onto Franklin, the guy in front of me made the right but into the middle lane and cut some one off and then wanted back into the right lane on Franklin - he couldn't get over and when he made the left turn from Franklin onto chernevert he also cut off the guy in the right land. He really didn't understand how the lanes worked. It's was amazing.

Driving slow in the left lane
@Retired_Engineer:
If you are talking on the phone, the left lane on the expressway is the best lane.
1 - There are no idiots entering or exiting the freeway to interrupt your call and make you actually pay attention. 2 - No one is going to to stop you, you just have to keep driving and talking. 3 - Hardly any of those annoying left exits to consume your attention. 4 - You can go at or below the speed limit so you aren't really breaking any laws and being stopped and interrupting your call is not a problem. 5 - All the idiots passing you on the right, well, you just ignore them which is easy to do since they are on the far side of the car, no call interruption there. 6 - You don't need to pay that much attention to driving, just keep it along the wall, easier to chat on the phone.

@FoFa: I have to agree with your reasons, but are you condoning driving slow in the left lane?

Don't get angry. Go around him.
BTW, the left lane is not the infinite speed lane. There is a speed limit.
