Two days til work starts again. Did anyone else have plans of getting caught up on home repairs and organizing over the summer, only to end up EXACTLY where you left off, possibly worse? Ho hum. What to do? Try to catch up on things, or play?
I say play..work late next week to catch up. We didn't really accomplish anything we wanted to this summer. Only thing I did was manage to get my storage unit halfway empty.
I am desperately trying to fnish this bathroom remodel before class start on aug 29th. We had a long lull in the project for a few reasons. First I took two extended vacations this summer, a total of 6 weeks. Then we had a dangerous electrical issue to deal with, then our ac went out for a whole week because my husband is frugal and got several quotes then decided on a person and it was 2 days before he could get here for the install. And I had my 11 yearold niece for a week. I think I ca get it done in a week though. We are down to tiling the floor and shower stall and installing the vanity and toilet.

@francita Good luck with the remodel! I think I will do what I need to do, like dishes and bills and laundry, but save the project completions for the rest of the year. There's always going to be something to do cuz one can never truely "be done". My mom always used to say that and it's true.
My goal was to do pretty much nothing. No camps where the kids had to be scheduled. No remodels. I do those when the kids are in school.
We read books, hung out, we did clean the gameroom but that was more out of necessity than want
I wanted my boys to for once not have every minute planned. We were successful. Now when school starts, we go back to the having all their time planned out.
Play! DD is staying the night with my inlaws so DH & I went to lunch, are shopping in the woodlands on Market Street, tonight we're going on a date to BJ's steakhouse, then either seeing the campaign or renting hunger games. He & I always have so much fun together. From the start of school all the way to January are always super hectic for us so we'll take advantage of play time while we can.
We did a lot of nothing this summer. We went on a few camping trips (RV). One kid read a lot of books and the other had friends over all the time playing board games and cards. I wish we had another 3 months to hang out and do nothing. But it's time to pack up the kids for college....
