Howard Storm's story My Descent Into Death describes it well. This is a true near death story from a former atheist.

The biggest lie that Satan could promote is that he does not exist. He dies not want people to belief of his existence because he does nit want them to fear consequences associated with bad intentions and evil acts.
But believe me, Satan is nit glamorous. He is all about lies. What occurs to you after death if you lived your life in an unloving way and never learned from your mistakes...will not be a picinic. It will be pure horror. So please do not get deceived and live your life with good intentions and love for all for in the spiritual realm we are all related.

I don't believe there actually is a spiritual Devil. As CS Lewis argued, God is perfect in goodness. The "devil" is seen, of course, as a complete anti-God, "perfect" in evil, but only God can be perfect--thus negating an opposite perfect being/spirit. God created us and gave us a choice of good or evil, which I believe was inborn in us; I do not believe that what we call Satan/ the Devil could CREATE sin.

The reality is that there is spiritual warefare occurring in realms that our eyes cannot see and we cannot feel. Some of us get rare glimpses.
@CantSleepWhenDogsBark: What would be the point of this if it doesnt occur in our realm?

Horsemagic - You have a good point. I enjoy reading C.S. lewis' work as well.
But from the encounter I had, I know for sure, without a doubt, that Satan is a real entity. He blends in. You might not even realize you are talking to him until the conversation takes an odd turn.
Satan is the great tempter and deceiver. He will tempt you with the great riches of the world. He doesn't have to tempt some people in person because some people gravitate towards evil without any temptation. (Money, fame, etc).
But those that give in are in for a surprise. Their soul will be no more when they die here on earth. Those that practiced love will get eternal life.

@CantSleepWhenDogsBark:
I firmly believe in the existence of Satan and that he/she does appear to us in our daily lives as he/she so chooses for the purpose of deceiving us: For me - ex-wife number 1, and ex-wife number 2.
Seriously though, not to make fun of the topic, ....., I certainly respect your beliefs and faith, as you have the right to have. I was raised in a very fundamental hard-lined baptist envirnonment, and was taught to believe in the existence of Satan just as much as in the existence of God. I think some people have a hard time though believing in the "spiritual warfare" realm of his existence, even though the bible clearly teaches this in the New Testament. It's just a little too far-fetched for some people to accept.

Interestingly, the name Lucifer was first used to refer to the King of Babylon. Only later did the name Lucifer refer to Satan himself. Many people in the middle east, Iran especially, state that it is a fact that Alexander the Great had horns and grew his hair long to hide his horns. Then you have artists like Leonardo Da Vinci who depicted religious leaders like Moses with horns. In the Book of Enoch it states that fallen angles, which included Satan, mated with human women. God greatly opposed this. If this is the case, then does Satan have his own bloodline too? Is his bloodline the Royal family? Do they look like human beings or do they slightly differ in appearance from humans? Was Mose related to Satan? Did Jesus attempt to warn humanity that some of Mose's teachings were false? What are your thoughts? I will admit I post my fair share of crap on here and I take my licks all the time, so I am not immune to it. @mardigrasman: who is licking you?
@BooBear: This was started on my birthday how did I miss this greatness. I love Cantsleep!! More power to ya sister! Fight the good fight!

Think outside of the box. Everyone always discusses Jesus' bloodline. But no one ever pays attention to what was mentioned in the Book of Enoch. Could it be that there is another type of bloodline here in this world? A bloodline that isn't so pure? A bloodline where the world's most intelligent, beautiful, and gifted people derive from? It made me think especially after seeing da vinci's work and reading the Book of Enoch. @CantSleepWhenDogsBark: When we going to go drinking?
@mm4731: I better get a phone call I wanna party with Cantsleep!

@CantSleepWhenDogsBark: You know speaking for myself ( and probably many other's on this site).....we could give a rat's arse about all of this subject matter that you post here! I will admit I post my fair share of crap on here and I take my licks all the time, so I am not immune to it. This is a site I turn to laugh at and with the folks in this great town of Kingwood, not to hear about all the religous zealotry (and yes I go to church every week, thank you very much). Not take your post and keep them!
@mardigrasman: Hmmm, you care enough to attack the person and the posts. Is that what they tell you in church? If you could give a rat's ass....guessing you meant couldn't give a rat's ass...then why click on the thread and why comment? You are acting like a low man.
