I haven't been to a big Walmart in over a year. I do go to the neighborhood Walmart, but not the big ones.

And I don't use the self checkouts any where. If they want to give me a discount for working for them I would. And they never work. I have yet to ever go to one and not have to have someone come and fix the machine or do something.

Going to the Porter Walmart always causes me to reflect on my life and realize just how lucky I am.

I went there today to buy school supplies. Scored $1.00 boxes of pencils and a class set of supply boxes for $13.00!! Woo!!!

Did you get the composition notebooks at Biglots? We got 72 for only $28.00. They were happy with me when I asked them to go in the back and get the boxes of them.

I'm not buying comp notebooks this year. We've got them covered on the supply list and I have two class sets left over from previous sales for just in case. But even as I type this I wonder if I should go buy more!

I'm going to try not to buy anything else until I go to set up my classroom. I always spend too much on unexpected things (Command Adhesive strips!!!) and I want to be ready.

Wal Mart is the Devil! I haven't found their prices to be better than other stores lately, except on some things that are "rolled back". School supply shopping---yuk! Now that the kids are in hs, I need to wait to see exactly what each teacher wants. Always purchased the all-inclusive kits from the school when they were little. I do have to get some supplies for my classroom soon. I think I'll go there at 4 am when no one's there. THAT'S the way to do it!
