I've only been to Splashtown and Schlitterbahn in Galveston.
Both have their good and bad.

Schlitterbahn in Galveston is kind of small to me and not all the slides or wave pool was working; so that was a disappointment.  But I hear that Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels is really FUN!

@tejasmom:

New braunsfels is a bit further (3 hr drive as opposed to galvestons 1 hr) but its a better waterpark. #1 in the country. Worth the trip plus you can stop at bucee's on the way there.

The one in New Braunsfels is always rated as one of the best water parks in the world, and always #1 in the US.

A natural spring feeds part of the water park, and the water is usually really cold.

That would be the one to go to

@silly123 If you have younger kids Splashtown would be just fine. They have all sorts of slides and a lazy river. It is alot bigger thant it looks from the freeway. Plus it take less time to get there than Galveston or New Braunfels (3 drive for a waterpark?, not me).

Shlitterbaun in Galveston is nice, but when we went we mixed it in with a stay at Moody gardens, that was a good weekend. IF not for the stay, I wouldnt make a trip just for the waterpark. The lasy river is better than spash towns, other than that I see no difference.

Regardless which waterpark you go to get there once they open to beat the crowds. IF you go to spashtown pack a cooler for lunch. You can't bring it insid, but it's notfar to get pack to the lot eat.

Have fun.
