yep, def. looks like catahoula.....but has brown eyes - one of them looks like it could have a blue spec in it though. Thanks! He is SUCH A SWEET little guy!!
Well, no signs posted yet for a lost puppy....and, if no owner comes forward, he will HAVE to find a foster home and rescue as soon as possible....and/or new owners. I already have 4 dogs - that are not small....and just absolutely cannot have another one. SO, keep this sweet guy in mind - I will def. keep you guys posted. I will try to get him to a vet tomorrow to check for a micro-chip......
Well, this would be day 2, and I just drove around pretty much every street in my neighborhood looking for signs, and asking people again......and nothing. I hope he wasn't dumped....b/c I am thinking that if one of my dogs went missing, I would have SO MANY signs out that same day.....ugh.....
I will be doing that tomorrow after I take him to the vet to see if he is chipped.......And, the unfortunate part is that my neighborhood is the only one right around here....I am near the lake and 2100, near the Huffman DQ......
Well, no micro-chip for the puppy....and no signs, no NOTHING looking for this sweet puppy!! Now, I am going to have to figure out what to do.....going to talk to Twyla's and see about getting him in their program, then I would need a foster - maybe. He is kind of fun to have around, but that would put me at 5 dogs until he is adopted out..... One thing I don't understand is why would people buy a cute collar, and not spend the extra $5 for a freakin tag!!! And, I do know that if one of my dogs went missing - I would have SO MANY signs up THAT same day......ugh......
Maybe you would be better just finding him a new home or a foster home. It doesn't sound like his previous owners were very responsible or caring if he was covered in fleas and had no tags. You could try calling animal contol to see if anyone had reported the dog missing.
Good luck. I'm going through a similar situation. I want to kick myself for stoppng to pick up the puppy on the highway yesterday after driving 16 hours home from Florida, but if I didn't it would have kept me up last night. Your a good person to help this pup. You can really tell what kind of a person someone is by the way they treat animals : )
Well, NO body has come looking for the sweet boy......Next step, getting him into a rescue group (I have contacted Twyla's Friends) to help find him a home.
BUT I do need a name for him. He is now responding to Pup Pup......I don't think that is the name he should keep though. lol.... I just have not thought of a name for him. I was thinking about "Dougie"?? I would appreciate suggestions.....Someone must have a name idea that would fit him.
