Hubby had to cut a smaller dead tree down in the yard we have it piled up by the street at the end of the driveway. I wonder who picks it up? Do we have to call someone or what??

Heavy Trash, check city of Houston maybe. Depends where you are as to your schedule.
Most HOA's won't let you put it out early. Ours says the weekend before heavy trash pickup

You have to tie the branches into bundles in order for them to pick it up.
