Exactly KDC. It would be beyond awesome if they had a store like the one in Baton Rouge, it is called the Back Packer. They sold such cool stuff for hiking, and canoeing and kayaking. And with the water right there, seems like it would be a good thing.
When they first built they really should have tried to get a strong anchor store. Someone like a Dillard's to come in and have just clothes. A much smaller than normal Dillard's. When you have one strong anchor you easily get in other big names.
I would guess the larger, chain type places have done an economic study and have found out that there is not the population to make one of their stores profitable.....or proximity to the mall or the locations to 1960 cancel it out....
kingwood was never designed to be the woodlands.....we were designed to be a bedroom community.....
Well I spoke to the manager at Dillard's at Deerbrook. I asked why the Woodlands store had way nicer stuff than we do here. I was told that when they do the study of the area so they know what to buy that Kingwood is not in that economic study.
Which is why so many people here go to the Woodlands.
But I am happy to do that. I would hate for Kingwood to become like the Woodlands. The traffic is out of hades. And the congestion is nothing I would want to deal with everyday.
Kingwood is a family place, so It needs a kids/family play store, like IT'Z, Incredible Pizza, ice skating rink, roller skating rink, Rock climbing, maybe even a small movie teather. That would make that place better.

@lucy513: Back in the day we had a roller rink a movie theater and Godfathers pizza.
