Galveston campgrounds

Anybody have recommendations.  We were just talking about going down there.  Not sure about renting a house or going to a campground.

Usually you can find a rental for cheap. I like East Beach myself.

 I don't know how the camping is, but they do have camping at the old military fort.

There are RV parks on Bolivar, Jamaica Beach, and Tiki.  I personally would rather find a beach house to rent  just to get  a break from the wind and sand, but tent camping on the beach is something that everyone should experience at least once.

I had reservations this past weekend at the Sandpiper resort at Stewart Beach but after the man on the phone rambled on a while about not wanting any "Beverly Hillbillies in his park I lost the urge to go there...

He didn't want any campers over 10 years old in his park....Ours is older but looks like the day it was new..

After listening to his attitude a little bit I just didn't want to stay there......
