My heart is just so broken lately

I founded a care package program for critical ill children nationwide  many are battling cancer .I have lost another little friend (2 years old) to cancer in less than a week. I'm tired of this devilish monster taking these babies.  I know that it can happen and will happen to some of them that are terminally ill but it has got to stop NOW! 46 children a day are diagnosed ... 7 day a die... is that not enough to find a cure? Spare the children!

It is heartbreaking. How wonderful of you to do what you can. cancer is nondiscriminatory and it just doesn't make sense.

Oh i know Cancer could care less, age, sex, race, how much money you make regardless it needs to be stopped now!
 
Breast cancer recieves so much awareness and funding, I wish pediatric cancer recieved the same.... Not saying one cancer is more deserving than the other they must all be cured but it's our children God bless their families.

lymphatic cancer is not a childrens cancer , however this is the cancer that took my 8 year old son from me .
For 7 months I begged the doctors to do something because he was loosing weight & complained of a stomach ache all the time. The wonderful Dr. Call said it was all in his head because he was having a stress attack because my 1st husband & I were getting a divorce. Finally I went to our lawyer & he went to the judge that gave a direct order for exploreatory surgery . On Nov. 2nd my son turned 8 , on Nov. 12th he came out of surgery & the good doctor told me there was nothing they could do but to make my son "comfortable" , he passed away Feb. 7th .....1975 ....
Had the wonderful doctors ran test  7 months earlier maybe he could have had more than one treatment , maybe he would have lived longer , maybe he would have gone into remission . All I got from Dr. Call was a letter of appology for not being more  observent & promising in the future to listen better ...that did not save my son . CANCER is a desease that is everyones problem , young & old .....please do not catalog it into a set of just childhood cancer , it's just cancer  once they find a cure for one cancer it will open the door for all cancers to be cured.

My sincerest apologies with you WJO.  My whole point I'm trying to make is childhood cancer needs increased funding desperately. Cancer needs to be done with immediately for everyone, but when pediatric cancer only recieves 3% and less of the funding...something is wrong.

Also, the fact that you had to go to that drastic length for a lawyer is horrible. I applaud you and admire you!!! You as a mother knew something was wrong and it needed to be fixed immediately. These doctors are not paying enough attention to our children. If there were preventative exams as there are for other cancers, it would give a better chance to these kids than being diagnosed with stage 3-4 progressive cancers. It's just so sad.. many don't realize or even look at the statistics of children with cancer.
