Has anyone ever rented a cabin on Lake Ouchita in Arkansas that could give a recommendation?

There is an excellent place just west of Lake Ouachicat bordering the National Forest. It is actually Norman, AR. It's a cabin that is set on the mountainside with 1300 ft of Caddo River frontage. Found this excellent with Lake Ouachita only 30 min drive. There are several towns all about 15 minutes apart that have some unique things to see. I would check out Homeaway.com and look up the area. I found that very helpful.

Lake Ouachita is gorgeous.  I lived in Little Rock for 9 years and have spent many weekends out there camping.  We still go up every summer.  If you want to get away from it all, you'll not be disappointed.

We pull our camper up to Lake Ouachita State Park.  DW's family has an annual get-together there that has been going on since well before we met (15 years).  We're not generally huge fans of state parks as a lot of them are over-crowded and not maintained all that well.  Can't say that about LOSP, it's top-notch.  You have to make reservations well in advance...we make ours a full year in advance...or you may not get in.  I've tent camped at a few other places up there but it has been too many years ago to recall the names.

When we lived in Little Rock we also liked to camp around Heber Springs on Greers Ferry Lake but our favorite spot was always up in the Ozark Mountains around Blanchard Springs Caverns near Mountain View.

You can also rent houseboats for Lake Ouchita too.  They are a blast and really not crazy expensive.

The water there is amazing.   Lots of scuba divers go there to get certified.  The water is unreal clear.

The state park is excellent, very well maintained too.

7 or so years ago we camped there when it was Chain O Lakes but now they just have cabins.
