  The fastback is stripped to nothing. Engine is built for it though.  Still trying to decide if I want to spend the extra $$$ for the T56.

  A T56 costs about $3700 plus installation.  On top of that, I will have to cut the floor out and manufacture a larger cavity for the size.   ...so I can get about 2 more miles to the gallon.  

   The T56 (6 speed)  Is really nothing more than a double over-drive.   It doesn't make the car any faster, which many people believe that it does.

Hubby has a 1989 mustang gt 5.0. It's his other woman. He has spent some money on engine work.
Here's a pic from Easter. He's had it in storage and gets it out when we feel like going for a ride

In my opinion, the fox body Mustang is the best overall vehicle built for a hot rod.
   It is the most versatile.  You can drag race, street race, SCCA, cruise, family car... almost anything.
  It got descent gas mileage (for it's day) It was reliable, dependable, and relatively inexpensive.
  ...not to mention that the parts could be swapped out with so many other vehicles and aftermarket parts were everywhere.

Exactly why he loves it. Whenever he needs to find a replacement part for it,it's usually not to hard to find. One day I will learn to drive it.
And for as much crap I talk about it,I really do love the car

Oh yes. Spent about 5 grand in 2000 and had a bunch of stuff done. He took out the air conditioner in it just a few years back. He has more plans for it in the future.
