I grew up in Louisiana and moved here about 20 years ago.  To me, water was always brown or brownish green.  It amazes me to see water as clear as these.

@N+T:   I think about things other than boobs.  I just think about boobs most of the time!  (I couldn't find any).

Once you get east of the mouth of the Mississippi river mouth,m it starts to clear, by Mobile it is pretty nice and Pensacola and Destin and such it is clear.
Away from the surf of course.
I've had 110 feet visibility 10 miles out scuba diving before.

I've been in 200ft of water and literally was able to see the ladder hanging off of the back of the boat.
   It's an amazing feeling.
