Very pleased with progress today. I posted a thread a few months back named "SuddenLy--I'm disconnected" but unfortunately it's no longer listed because of the recent KWDC issues.
Long story short.....many issues with suddenlink cable over multiple months. Dotted all I's and crossed all T's to no avail. I was on the fence 2mos ago but didn't cancel as I travel often for work and as we all know daily many things sometimes take higher priority. I called sdn three weeks ago to add HBO due to wanting to watch a series with my fiance' that I saw in a hotel....HBO exclusive. Upgraded to a DVR and p/u at local
WLH office.....would not function. Exchanged again...still guide and DVR a no go. Called a tech and burned 1/2 a day waiting who confirmed there were no signal issues within my home and also replaced the box again (all used ones)....still didn't work. Five calls to tech support.....unit would still not take a remote ping.
As a last effort I scheduled an outdoor (direct) run test with a tech for this past Sunday....1-5pm. Tech never showed and didn't call and our family burned a nice weekend afternoon waiting for non-resolution. Done.
I already have a phone line in my home via CenturyLink; added DirecTV premier and also 10m upload DSL on existing account. My last sdn bill was up to 135./mo as per current rate increase in which they did not inform me of when I called for an upgrade. Now I have 230 channels, great HD, tech arrived on time, and also my net upload net speed is 10 meg instead of 1.5 for a total of ~90/monthly. In addition, I had a brief support issue today and customer service was very helpful. The DirecTV tech also dropped a very well installed lead in a second bedroom for no charge!
In short for those considering Suddenlink I urge you to seek other options. This is to you "Ashley"...the most pleasant experience I've ever had with sdn was to cancel. As a bonus, I retain better service, more net speed, a lower bill, on-time tech arrivals, more HD channels and also Co. who is not going to charge me for internet "overage" Mb usage and who is also working to drop AMC right before the premier of Walking Dead this coming Sunday.
Buh Bye! :D .....and wish I would have ended this toxic relationship years ago.
