So I went to Lowes tonight to price the synthetic board to build a deck. Pretty pricey, although I am still considering it. My brother told me not to because it is 3 times the cost of regular treated boards. I am just thinking if I go ahead and install these other boards, I will never have to re-do my deck.

Go to www.builddirect.com. for one of our houses we bought 4000sq ft or hard wood floors for a little over $2000. They have decking, flooring, tiles granite.

cement is the only way to go , just hose it off & you're done. We had a wooden deck 52 X 16 & it was always needing to be washed or stained . After a couple years you need to replace some of the boards.

Now with the synthetic boards you don't have all that repair or replacement but the cost is really high & you want to put the screws in that do not rust because if you go with nails they will eventually work their way out & it's a pain in the butt to go around once a week & hammer the ones working out back in . The correct screws are also expensive.

Cement patio is the only way to go unless of course your patio is several feet off the ground , then wood / synthetic flooring is the way you will have to go.
