I'm with Bank of America, and I keep hearing about new fees they are going to start charging.
What do you all think is the best bank with the best services and reasonable fees?
Thanks!

What fees are B of A going to start charging?  We've actually had no problem with them.

We have a couple of accounts with BOA, I haven't seen the details of the new charges so I am not sure if they will even affect us. We also have some with Amegy, I like them. We have savings with credit union through husbands work,it is never uses so I don't really have an opinion on them. I use chase for my payroll, not too thrilled with them. We use compass for our investment/property accounts. I am really thinking about moving everything to amegy. I just like the people there. I don't want all my eggs in one basket though and switching banks is a pain.

Hmmm, maybe I will consider Amegy.  I haven't heard too much about them.  I've also thought about Smart Financial, since I'm a teacher.
Any more ideas?

Go with a Credit Union if you can.  Smart Financial is a great bank.  I don't bank with them, but they are a Credit Union Service Center so I can deposit checks with them and make withdrawls without having to go to my bank.

I love the service you get from a credit union.  With out credit union I know I never have to wait 24 hours or whatever it is, once I make a deposit.

I like the using a credit union because when I call I am not connected to a switchboard, someone always answers.

And we have no fees with checking or debit cards.

Bank of America fees will not affect a lot of people, so before you switch, call and talk to them, or go in....I am with them, and will not be affected by their new fees.   I have no problems with them, and do not plan on changing any time soon.

USAA. You don't have to be military to use the bank. No fees.

I've been with Compass (Guaranty) on Kingwood Drive at the front for 30 years.  All the gals that work there have been there for years & are very helpful.  No fees if you select a no fee account.
