I can totally see people either being bugged by the large list, or using them for future reference
@fofa: The little orange notification ( 1 ) goes away after you look at the notification...so the grey link shouldn't be too distracting. I'll probably automatically be paring down the list so that notifications older than 2 weeks or so, go away. On the list itself, you'll be able to recognize new notifications vs. old ones by the little Star next to it.
